Updating US Citizenship Status

  After passing the US Naturalization Test, you still need to update your Lawful Permanent Resident status to US Citizen. This is not automatic. You need to go and update your citizenship status. To update US Citizenship status, you will need to visit your nearest Social Security office. Fill up the SS-5 Application form  and bring this to the Social Security office. This form is the same for applying original or replacement Social Security card and for changing or correcting information on the Social Security card.     Please prepare and bring required documents  prove age, identity, and U.S. citizenship or current lawful, work-authorized immigration status. US Citizenship Application

    As a  US Lawful Permanent residents, you are eligible to apply for Naturalization to become a US Citizenship at the USCIS after 5 years of stay in the US or only after 3 years if your spouse is a US Citizen. Online Application is available to complete and submit the Form N-400. After payment and completing the application, you will just then wait for the schedule of your Biometric Fingerprinting if needed, then next will be the schedule of your Interview and Test.  This will take months.      The  Interview and Test consists of the English Test and Civic Test.
