What makes life In the United States of America better and so hard.

Living in the United States of America is better for me in terms of status in life. I will first mention good things about the US according to my experience.

Here in the US, the value of money is higher. You get to buy things or foods which are considered expensive in the Philippines. You can enter Restaurant, shopping malls and casinos with just wearing shorts or casual attire. No one cares whatever you wear unlike in the Philippines. I never entered a casino or a Casino Resort in the Philippines. It feels like only the rick people go there and I think you have to wear something semi-casual or business attire. Not sure. I just heard it with some friends.

In the Philippines, it feels like foreigners are richer and have better lives than me. But when I get to the US, I work with other race especially with the Americans, Mexicans, Vietnamese and we are just on the same level. What a nice feeling hahaha. Because I never seen foreigners in the Philippines doing ordinary job like cleaning, bagging, dispatching, like a "kargador" in the Philippines. It feels good that everyone is treated evenly. Not mentioning a few racist of course. Racists are the most narrow-minded people in the world.

Another good thing happened to me in the US is that I have my own car. Yehey! we only have tricycle in the Philippines. Cars in the US is a necessity. It helps a lot to go to work, school, shopping, go to grocery stores, church, park and others. It took me a year to get my driver's license and to have my own car. My first car was an old Jeep Grand Cherokee 1999 model for only $1500. But it is hard to maintain an old car,  it's like every month you need to fix something on it and it costs me a lot higher than paying for a monthly payment of a new car. So I bought a new one after a year.

Another better thing in the US is in terms of Education. The tools, materials, devices used are more technologically advanced. In the Philippines, as a former College Instructor there, teachers are lucky if Projectors are available in the classroom.

Another fascinated me at first is the pedestrian crossing. At the airport (LAX) going to parking when we arrived, I first saw this that you need to press the button when you need to cross the street. I say, Wow! people should be well disciplined here. Compared to the Philippines, Filipinos always jay-walk. They are lack of discipline in terms of crossing the street.

In California, the weather is good so I am lucky it's like I'm in the Philippines more like in Tagaytay or Baguio because the breeze is so good.

Now for the things which make life in the United States of America so hard. Number one on the list is the BILLS. House Rental or mortgage, car payments, car insurance, life and health insurance, phone bills, electric bills, credit card bills and many more. It's also like living in the Philippines with pay check to pay check.

Maybe the range of a House Rental here in California is from $800 (only room rental)- $3500. See, half of my monthly pay goes to the House Rental. But if you want cheaper house, go to other state because California is one of the States with a High Cost of Living.

The next thing why it is hard to live here in the US is that living away from your family. Maybe this is only applicable to other people like me because I was just petitioned by my husband. So hard to be away from your parents and siblings.
